According to the research of Dr. Jewel I. Pookrum, M.D. and Metaphysician, (www.drjewelpookrum.com) she notes that biologically the body of the melanated youth is fully developed by the age of 14 years old. That's 4-7 years before they are considered legally adults between the ages of 18-21 years of age. Around the age of 14 is when most parents and especially teachers notice they have more challenges with the youth. This is the age when teenagers feel like they "know" better than most parents or teachers. Hormones are developing them physically into adulthood, and they "feel" like adults. However, mentally our youth are undeveloped because of the lack of preparation that we as parents and teachers under this culture have given to them.
SETTING HIGHER STANDARDS
What other things are contributing to the imbalance that is occurring in our youth?
How can our environments balance the mind/body maturity of our youth? Respect the womb. Set higher standards in our communities before our youth begin to date. Teach our youth with information and facts that will empower them to make healthy decisions and to be respectful of themselves wholistically: mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically at every age. When numbers are compared from the early 90s for 15-19 year olds through the present there has been a dynamic reduction of about 15 - 20% of teen pregnancy in most states. More teens are accepting virginity or secondary (renewed virginity) as a life style. This is attributed to an increased message of "Teen Abstinence 'til Marriage Education" This message is not religiously based, it is a medical and psychological issue that reduces medical and emotional scarring in the youth.
Help the youth to transition through the teen years into adulthood by giving guidance in these primary areas:
[] 1. Social: Have your youth focus on how he or she interacts with other people. Help them to develop the ability to hold their opinion in the face of opposition. Can they avoid putting their health or the health of someone else at risk? Teach them to stand up for things that are valuable despite being ridiculed from their peers. [] 2. Intellectual: Involve your youth in activities that stimulates their mind to think. Give them tasks that help them to be dependable. Being able to be counted on to respond. Teach them the necessity of being organized and to be able to prepare for future events. Teach them to save for the items they feel they need. [] 3. Ethical Standards & Values: Teach your youth the moral standards of your family traditions, culture, spirituality, or religion. Strengthen through activities their ability to think about others as well as themselves, and the consequences of their actions. Teach them not to take things that do not belong to them without first asking, not to cheat, or tell lies. And most importantly to have respect for those in authority: Parents, teachers, coaches, employers. [] 4. Emotional: Teach your youth to have control over their feelings, whether they are pleasant or unpleasant. Prepare them to respond to situations in their lives productively, rather than destructive.
YOUTH CHARACTER TRAITS
POSITIVE OUTLETS FOR DEVELOPING NATURAL TALENTS
a) Inner Child: Refer to youth's day of birth
b) Life's Purpose: Totally calculate the date of birth: Month + Day + Year (example: 07/12/1987 7+1+2+1+9+8+7 this becomes: 35 becomes 3+5 = 8) For this youth who has a 12/3 and a 35/8 vibration it would be helpful to refer to character paragraph #3 and character paragraph"#8 below for guidance:
